Black Children, White Parents
“Putting The Pieces Together”
In the past, I was one of those black people who was against transracial adoption. God has truly brought me a mighty long way. As an adoptive African American parent myself, I have been able to feel what it is like to love a child that you did not give birth to. It is truly a wonderful blessing! It became clear to me that white parents want their black children to succeed and be aware of their culture; however resources were very limited, so I decided to write this book. This book includes multiple avenues of discussion such as racism, hair care with photos, African American traditions, and skin care. I have also gathered information from a variety of African Americans addressing the most frequently asked questions I have received from Caucasian parents.
